Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day

Opening Prayer
|
|
Awaken, O Lord, our drowsiness from this heavy slumber of sin
and from the sleep of negligence that we may worship You, O Living God Who never
dies.
Make us worthy to praise You and magnify You with the
heavenly hosts now, always and forever.
|
| |
|
Psalm 134
|
|
Praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord who minister by
night in the house of the Lord.
Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.
May the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from
Zion.
|
| |
|
Psalm 119:169-176
|
|
May my
cry come before You, O Lord; give me understanding according to Your
word. May my supplication come before
You; deliver me
according to Your promise.
May my lips overflow with praise, for You teach me Your
decrees. May my tongue sing of Your
word, for all Your commands are righteous.
May Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your
precepts.
I long for Your salvation, O Lord, and Your law is my
delight.
Let me live that I may praise You, and may Your laws
sustain me.
I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek Your servant, for I
have not forgotten Your commands.

The Angelic Hymn
|
|
G lory to God in the highest, on earth peace and tranquillity and good hope to mankind.
We glorify You, We bless You, we worship You and offer You
words of Praise.
We thank You because of Your Great glory. O Lord, the
Creator, the Heavenly King and God, the Almighty Father.
O Lord God, the Only-begotten Son Jesus Christ and the Holy
Spirit.
O Lord God, the Lamb of God, the Son and the Word of the
Father, Who takes away, rather took away the sin of the world, have mercy on
us.
O Lord, Who takes away, rather took away the sin of the
world, hearken to us and receive our supplication, O Lord, Who gloriously sits
on the right hand of the Father, have compassion and mercy upon us.
For You alone are Holy, and You alone are the Lord, O Jesus
Christ, with the Holy Spirit.
For the glory of God, the Father, Amen. I bless You at all
times and all the days of my life, and I glorify Your Holy and ever blessed
Name Who are and Who lives forever and ever.
Blessed are You, O Lord Almighty, God of our fathers. Your
name is magnified and glorified now and for evermore.
You are worthy of all praise , glory and adoration, O God
of all, the true Father, with Your Only-begotten Son and Your Living Holy
Spirit now and forever and ever. Amen.

Psalm 51
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love;
according to Your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I
know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in
Your sight, so that You are proved right when You speak and justified when You
judge.
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother
conceived me.
Surely You desire truth in the inner parts; You teach me
wisdom in the inmost place.
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I
will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones You have
crushed rejoice.
Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast
spirit within me.
Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit
from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a
willing spirit, to sustain me.
Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will
turn back to You.
Save me from bloodguilt, O God, the God who saves me, and my
tongue will sing of Your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise.
You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; You do
not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and
contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.
In Your good pleasure make Zion prosper; build up the walls
of Jerusalem.
Then there will be righteous sacrifices, whole burnt
offerings to delight You; then bulls will be offered on Your altar.

|
Psalm 63
O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You; my soul
thirsts for You, my body longs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is
no water.
I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and
Your glory.
Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify
You.
I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I
will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
On my bed I remember You; I think of You through the
watches of the night.
Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your
wings.
My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.
They who seek my life will be destroyed; they will go down
to the depths of the earth.
They will be given over to the sword and become food for
jackals.
But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God's
Name will praise Him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.
|
| |
|
Psalm 113
|
|
Praise the Lord. Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the
Name of the Lord.
Let the Name of the Lord be praised, both now and
forevermore.
From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the
Name of the Lord is to be praised.
The Lord is exalted over all the nations, His glory above
the heavens.
Who is like the Lord our God, the One Who sits enthroned on
high, Who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from
the ash heap; He seats them with princes, with the princes of their people.
He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother
of children. Praise the Lord.

It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing
praises to Your Name, O Most High;
to show forth Your Loving-kindness in the morning and Your
faithfulness every night.

|
Psalm92:1-2
|
|
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord, and in the
morning I will prepare myself to see You (Psalm 5:3).
Lord have mercy on Your people.
Lord, pardon and forgive our sins.
O Holy One, stretch out Your right hand and heal our
sickness for Your Name’s sake.

Hymn of St. Severios
|
|
By Thy Mother’s prayers, who begat Thee, and of all Thy saints:
I will exalt Thee my Lord and King, the Only-begotten Son,
the Word of the heavenly Father, Who in His nature is immortal.
Who, by His grace, willingly did come to give life and
salvation to all mankind;
Who did become incarnate of the glorious, pure and Holy
Virgin Mary, Mother of God.
Who, without a change, did become man, and was crucified
for us, Christ our God.
And by His death, He trampled and destroyed our death. And
Who is one person of the Holy Trinity.
He is worshipped and glorified together with His Father and
His Living Holy Spirit. Have mercy upon us.

Gospel Reading
St. Luke 6:27-38
|
|
Jesus said:
Love your enemies, do good to those who
hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also;
and from anyone who takes away your coat, do not withhold even your shirt.
Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes
away your goods, do not ask for them again.
Do unto others as you would have them do to you.
If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?
For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good
to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. If you lend
to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even
sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing
in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most
High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn,
and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it
will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running
over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure
you get back.

The Creed
|
|
We believe in One God.
The Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all
things visible and invisible.
And in One Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only-begotten Son of
God, Who was begotten of the Father before all worlds; Light of Light, true
God of true God; begotten and not made; and being of one substance with His
Father, by Whom all things were made; Who, for us men and for our salvation,
came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and of the Virgin
Mary, Mother of God. And He became man, and was crucified for us under Pontius
Pilate, and He suffered, died and was buried, and the third day He rose
according to His will. And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of His Father; and He
will come again with great glory to judge both the living and the dead; and
His kingdom shall have no end.
And, we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of
life to all, Who proceeds from the Father, Who, together with the Father and
the Son, is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the Prophets and the
Apostles.
And, in one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. We confess
one Baptism for the remission of sins. And we look for the resurrection of the
dead, and the new life in the world to come. Amen.
